I am pleased to attach an open invitation to an online retreat that I am organising from 10th-13th July called Borderland looking at our experiences of teaching in higher education. There is no charge for the retreat.
The retreat has been designed to be inclusive and online – you can drop in and out of the sessions from 11am-3pm BST each day to fit in with existing commitments, childcare and personal needs.
There will be short inspirational presentations looking at teaching related research and reflection; teaching innovation and case studies; and ‘life lessons’ (things about us as people that influence how we teach, think and act in the classroom). Each mini-presentation will be followed by an active reflection activity. At lunchtime we will have a make/do/share session – you can grab your lunch and come back to write, make, chat, share and reflect with others in an open and friendly space – or you can take a break from the screen and rejoin for the afternoon sessions.
The aim of the retreat is to create a space to reflect, process and recover from the last year of teaching, and gain fresh inspiration, ideas and reorientation for the coming year. We will be making good use of Zoom rooms to ensure that there will be lots of opportunities to interact with others, but also to sit quietly with our own experiences.

I’m really looking forward to meeting you there.
